Quantitative Science for Conservation Impact
About The Lab
The Quantitative & Conservation Ecology Lab tackles some of the most pressing challenges in freshwater science—how to restore rivers, manage invasive species, and sustain native fish in a rapidly changing world. We merge field ecology, advanced telemetry, and population modeling to reveal how fish move, survive, and respond to disturbance across complex river networks. Our work doesn’t stop at discovery—we turn data into tools that help managers make real conservation decisions. From dam removals reconnecting long-fragmented systems to experimental pond studies across the U.S., the QCE Lab is where ecological curiosity meets applied impact, training the next generation of scientists to think boldly and act for connected, resilient rivers.
